Managing folders
View folders: Your folder list appears on the left side (Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Trash, and any custom folders you've created).
Move a message: Select a message and click Move, then choose the destination folder. Or drag and drop the message into a folder.
Create a new folder: Look for a New Folder option (usually in a menu or folder list context menu). Name it and save.
Delete messages: Select a message and click Delete. It moves to Trash. To permanently remove it, empty the Trash folder.
Searching your mailbox
- Click the Search icon or field (usually at the top of the mailbox).
- Type a sender name, subject, or keyword from the message body.
- Press Enter or click the search button.
- Results show matching emails. Click any result to open it.
- To search only the current folder, use the folder's search option before running a mailbox-wide search.
Quick tips
- Drafts folder: Messages you compose but don't send are saved here. Return to them to finish and send later.
- Sent folder: Copies of all emails you've sent are stored automatically.
- Starred or flagged messages: Some versions let you mark important emails with a star or flag for quick access.
- Read vs. unread: Click a message to mark it read; unread messages are often highlighted so you know what's new.
